Brad Carter

Owner and Mechanic

With over 20 years experience as a heavy duty diesel mechanic, paired with his passion for continued personal growth and development, Brad’s knowledge of automotive mechanics is invaluable to any customer.

Commencing his career as an apprentice with globally renowned company WesTrac has been pivotal to his success, as the training provided through their nationally recognised Caterpillar Institute was second to none. As part of his position within the “Labour Pool” section of WesTrac, Brad was deployed into the field service arena where he was required to work on various mine sites across Western Australia including WesTrac Kalgoorlie, Cockatoo Island, Lawlers Gold Mine, Golden Grove Gold Mine, Yandi Iron Ore Mine and Telfer Gold Mine. Some of the equipment he has worked on include off highway trucks, graders, loaders, driltech (blast hole drills) and tractors.

After many years working fly-in-fly-out with WesTrac, Brad was offered a position based in Perth with road profiling operations company, WA Profiling. His role as Workshop Maintenance Manager involved performing maintenance and repairs on their large fleet of purpose-built Profilers, Stabilisers, Spreaders and ancillary equipment such as side pavers, tip trucks, bottom sliding trucks, rollers and a variety of water tankers. Brad gained invaluable skills in this specialised industry and being part of a management team led him to dream of one day starting a business of his own.

After much anticipation and planning, Carter’s Heavy Diesel opened in 2013 and was initially operating as a mobile mechanic service. Brad’s reputation as a trusted mechanic soon grew, as did the need for a workshop of his own. Now operating out of a fully equipped workshop in Welshpool, Brad enjoys the camaraderie he has built with clients that have remained with him since the beginning and also establishing relationships with new clients.

When he’s not covered in grease, you’ll find Brad on a golf course or spending quality time with his young family.
